‘GRAMMY AWARD’ FOR RICKY KEJ OF KARNATAKA

The prestigious 57th year Grammy Awards were announced today and Ricky Kej and Wouter Kellerman ‘Winds of Samsara’ gets the prestigious Best New Age Album award.

 

As we all know this jingle specialist Ricky Kej hails from Karnataka. He was first seen in scoring music for Kannada cinema ‘Accident’ of Ramesh Aravind direction. He went on with films like ‘Crazy Kutumba’ and ‘Venkata in Sankata’ musical scores for Ramesh Aravind direction and well received for his retuning of ‘Baa Meleye baa....song of BR Lakshman Rao. Sonu Nigam rendered the evergreen song delivered by Mysooru Ananthaswamy and his son Raju Ananthaswamy.

 

 

Ricky Kej also evolved a studio called ‘Revolution’ in Bengaluru. At this studio top floor ‘Ondu Rupayalli Eradu Preethi’ Kannada cinema of Dayal Padmanabhan audio was released.

 

The international award ‘Grammy Award for Best New Age Album’ was established in 1987. It is given for artistic achievement. ‘Winds of Samsara’ is made in collaboration with South African flutist Wouter Kellerman. Nearly 120 musicians have worked for this in two years time – the theme is ‘World Peace’. Composing music for last 15 years Rickey Kej a dental surgeon made 3000 jingles and worked for reputed companies like Esilor, TVS, Microsoft, Levis, Air India, Blaupunkt, IBM, Toyota, Worldspace, SAB Miller, Nike, Inc., Springfield, Biocon, Lifestyle group, Kingfisher, Hsindustan Lever Limited, Airtel etc
